The history behind Orange Blossom House

Orange Blossom House is my family home. My parents bought it from the original owners and I have lived here for most of my life. It has a lot of memories for both my husband and I, as Lawrence boarded here from his teen years and has also called it home for the longest time. Each corner, hallway and stairwell holds a memory, so when my father passed away and my mother decided to sell; there was no question that we wanted to buy the house.

When deciding on a name, I wanted it to capture the memory of my dad as well as relate it to my businesses of Massage Therapy and Bed and Breakfast Accommodation. Orange is my father’s favourite colour and Navel Oranges are his favourite fruit. Also the Orange Tree produces 3 types of Essential Oils –Orange from the fruit, Petigraine from the leaves and Neroli from the Orange Blossom. Neroli is great for purifying a room, skin regeneration and for a calming and relaxing effect.

However the words Orange Blossom mean even more than this. They mean ‘fertility’ and ‘purity’, and since owning this house we have had two gorgeous girls. They also mean ‘eternal love’, which symbolizes the ever enduring love for our girls and my father.
